Talk Talk is not the only provider to charge exit charges.
At this time of year, many people in a frenzy of New Year-itis, spring clean their finances.
This is a great practice, but when looking to change any provider, you should always check the small print to see if there are any exit penalties, or to ensure you are not moving away from any built-in benefits.
TalkTalk, the broadband provider, has been accused of imposing a “stealth charge” worth millions of pounds a year on customers who choose not to pay by direct debit. The hidden penalty is also catching out customers who left the company in frustration over its poor service and failure to prevent cyberattacks on 157,000 accounts.
